Each organisation seeking accreditation must meet the following criteria established by the advisory panel.
- Provide all legally required information to their pregnant employees and undertake all legally required duties, in accordance with current UK maternity law.
- All pregnant employees must be encouraged to attend their antenatal appointments.
- Risk assessments must be carried out for every pregnant employee upon notification of their pregnancy.
- A smoke free working environment must be provided.
- Rest and relaxation places for pregnant women must be provided. (Please note it is
not necessary to provide a separate room. Existing staff rooms, canteens or other areas can be
used as long as the area is smoke free. What is important is that pregnant women have a place
they can rest away from their desk).
- All pregnant employees must be provided with a copy of Tommy's Guide to a working pregnancy: for employees.
- All line managers of pregnant employees must be provided with a copy of Tommy's guide to a working pregnancy: for managers.

Your membership fee is comprised of two parts. The number of women of child-bearing age in your employment plus a small fee per the number of women who took maternity leave in the last calendar year (or an average over the last 3 years if no one took maternity leave in the last year). The fee is payable annually and every year we ask for these figures so we can calculate your fee for the current year. Please click here to view the fee scale, from which you will be able to calculate what your fee would be. Alternately you can call Tommy's on 020 7398 3420 for a quote. |

Yes, there is a 10% discount for registered charities and the NHS.
|

Accreditation is renewed annually. Each year we will ask you to inform us of any changes to your maternity policy (if any) and the information we need to calculate your fee for the current year (refer to the above question: 'How much does it cost').
|

If you think your employer should join our programme, contact your Human Resources or Occupational Health representative, or if your company is smaller your Managing Director or Chief Executive.
You can either print out the information contained on this site, or contact a corporate account manager at Tommy's who will be happy to talk with someone at your company to discuss the benefits. Please call Tommy's on 08707 70 70 70 for further guidance.

In the event of any pregnancy-related dispute between an employee and employer, Tommy's will not become involved. However, the Tommy's pregnancy information line is available for use by both employees and employers if any information is required about the health aspects of a working pregnancy.
To become an accredited member of the Pregnancy Accreditation Programme, organisations provide Tommy's with documentary evidence of their maternity procedures and policies. This evidence is reviewed by Tommy's advisory panel who then decide if a company meets the criteria and are eligible to become an accredited member of the Pregnancy Accreditation Programme. Tommy's does not independently verify the information provided by an organisation as part of their application, and cannot interfere in an organisation's Human Resource / Personnel operations.

You or any of your staff can call Tommy's information line on 0870 777 30 60, to speak in confidence with one of our qualified advisors.
